Privacy Policy

TPREDMARKET TECHNOLOGY AFRICA LIMITED (“TPredMarket”, “we”, “us” or “our”) respects the privacy of people who use our website, applications, prediction markets, TALKS community, creator services and related features (collectively, the “Platform”).

Effective date June 17, 2026 — the current version of this Privacy Policy applies from the date published on this page.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, protect, disclose and otherwise process personal information when you visit the Platform, create an account, participate in predictions, make transactions, publish content or contact us.

We operate primarily from Nigeria and may serve users in other jurisdictions, subject to applicable laws and feature availability.

This policy is intended to comply with applicable data-protection requirements, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other laws that apply to our processing activities.

By using the Platform, you acknowledge this policy. Where applicable law requires consent for a particular processing activity, we will seek that consent separately. This policy does not replace any consent or other lawful basis required by law.

2. Personal information we collect

The categories of information we may collect depend on the features you use, your verification status and applicable legal requirements.

2.1 Account and profile information

We may collect:

  • Name and username.
  • Email address and phone number.
  • Date of birth.
  • Profile picture, biography and other profile details you choose to provide.

Some information is necessary to create and maintain an account. If you do not provide information required for a particular feature, we may be unable to provide that feature.

2.2 Identity and age-verification information

Where identity verification or enhanced checks are required, we may process:

  • National Identification Number (NIN) verification information.
  • Government-issued identity documents.
  • Selfies or photographs used for identity matching.
  • Date-of-birth and age-verification information.
  • Verification results, status, reference numbers and relevant audit records from third-party verification providers.

The precise information collected will depend on the verification method and the feature involved.

Where a provider performs verification on our behalf, it may process information under its own applicable privacy obligations. We will explain relevant provider involvement where required.

We will not claim that we collect a complete copy of your NIN or identity document in every case. The information actually collected depends on the implemented verification process.

  • Subscription status, billing history and related records.

Payment providers may process certain payment credentials directly. We will not claim to store complete card details or other payment credentials unless our actual systems do so.

Content you publish publicly or share with other users may be visible to those users according to the Platform’s features and settings. Public content should not be assumed to be confidential.

2.5 Technical and device information

We may collect IP addresses, login records, device information, browser or application details, timestamps, security events and other technical information needed to operate, secure and troubleshoot the Platform.

Cookies, local storage, analytics tools and similar technologies may be used where implemented. Their specific use, purposes and available controls will depend on our actual configuration and applicable law.

We will provide any additional notices or consent controls required for non-essential cookies or similar technologies.

2.6 Information from third parties

Depending on the feature and lawful basis, we may receive information from payment processors, banks, identity-verification providers, fraud-prevention services, hosting providers or other authorised partners.

We may use these records to verify transactions, establish eligibility, detect fraud, maintain account security and comply with legal obligations.

We do not intend to collect more information than is reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.

3. How we use personal information

We may use personal information for the following purposes:

  1. Account operations: registering users, authenticating logins, managing profiles and providing requested services.
  2. Payments and transactions: processing eligible deposits, withdrawals, subscriptions, refunds and settlements.
  3. Identity and eligibility checks: confirming age, identity, account ownership and eligibility for restricted features.
  4. Security and fraud prevention: detecting account compromise, payment fraud, manipulation, abuse and other suspicious activity.
  5. Market integrity: administering prediction markets, reviewing evidence, investigating disputes and correcting material errors.
  6. Community operations: displaying user-selected profile information, supporting TALKS features and moderating content.
  7. Personalisation and improvement: understanding feed interactions, diagnosing errors, improving performance and developing Platform features.
  8. Customer support: responding to questions, complaints, account issues and privacy requests.
  9. Legal and regulatory compliance: maintaining required records, responding to lawful requests and meeting applicable reporting or compliance obligations.
  10. Service communications: sending account notices, security alerts, policy changes, payment updates and other essential operational communications.

We will not treat your consent as the only possible lawful basis for all processing. Depending on the circumstances, processing may be necessary to perform a contract, comply with a legal obligation, protect vital interests, pursue a lawful legitimate interest or satisfy another lawful basis recognised by applicable law.

Where processing depends on consent, you may withdraw that consent, subject to the legal consequences and any other lawful basis that independently applies.

4. How we share personal information

We do not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers.

We may disclose or make personal information available to the following categories of recipients when reasonably necessary and legally permitted.

4.1 Payment processors and banking partners

Payment processors, banks and other financial-service partners may receive transaction details and verification information required to process payments, reconcile records, prevent fraud or provide a requested financial service.

4.2 Identity-verification providers

Identity and age-verification providers may receive the information necessary to perform the requested or required checks.

4.3 Technology and infrastructure providers

Hosting, database, cloud storage, analytics, communications, customer-support and cybersecurity providers may process information to deliver services on our behalf.

Where appropriate, we will use contractual, technical and organisational safeguards to protect information processed by these providers.

4.4 Authorised personnel

Access within TPredMarket is intended to be limited to personnel and authorised service providers who need the information for their responsibilities, subject to appropriate access controls and confidentiality requirements.

Not every employee or team member is entitled to unrestricted access to user records.

4.5 Investors and prospective investors

Important Investor interest does not automatically entitle an investor to access identifiable user information.

For ordinary fundraising, reporting and business due diligence, our default approach is to provide aggregated, anonymised or appropriately redacted information wherever practical.

Examples include:

  • Total registered users and monthly active users.
  • Aggregated revenue, payment volume and transaction summaries.
  • Retention and engagement statistics.
  • Market participation and product usage metrics.
  • Financial statements and appropriately redacted transaction evidence.

We do not routinely provide investors with users’ private emails, phone numbers, NINs, BVNs, identity documents, private support messages or identifiable account histories merely because they are considering an investment.

Any exceptional disclosure of personal information must have an appropriate lawful basis, a legitimate and specific purpose, and safeguards proportionate to the sensitivity of the information. Where possible, we will use redaction, anonymisation or a controlled review process.

We will not promise absolute non-disclosure if a particular disclosure is legally required or otherwise lawfully necessary.

4.6 Legal, regulatory and security disclosures

We may disclose relevant information to courts, regulators, law-enforcement authorities or other competent bodies when required by law or where disclosure is otherwise lawfully justified.

We may also share limited information where reasonably necessary to investigate suspected fraud, protect users, establish or defend legal claims, or secure the Platform, subject to applicable law.

4.7 Business transfers

If TPredMarket undergoes a merger, acquisition, restructuring, financing transaction or sale of assets, relevant information may be considered as part of that transaction.

Any disclosure or transfer will be subject to applicable law, appropriate safeguards and any notice or consent requirements that apply.

5. Public information and community content

Certain Platform features are designed for interaction between users.

Your username, profile information, creator activity, posts, comments and other content may be visible to other users or the public, depending on the feature and its settings.

Before publishing content, consider whether it contains private information about you or another person.

We may retain copies of content where reasonably necessary for security, moderation, dispute resolution, legal compliance or backup purposes, even after it is removed from public display.

This does not give us an unrestricted right to use private content for unrelated purposes.

6. Cookies, analytics and similar technologies

We may use cookies or similar technologies to:

  • Maintain sessions and account security.
  • Remember settings and preferences.
  • Understand Platform performance and usage.
  • Diagnose errors and improve reliability.
  • Detect suspicious activity.

The specific technologies and third-party tools used will depend on our implemented configuration.

Where required by law, we will obtain consent before using non-essential tracking technologies. You may be able to control cookies through your browser or available Platform settings, although disabling certain technologies may affect functionality.

Third-party analytics or infrastructure providers may process technical information in accordance with their applicable terms and privacy obligations.

7. Data retention and account deletion

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, subject to applicable law.

Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the reason it is held.

For example:

  • Account information may be retained while your account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward.
  • Transaction, accounting and compliance records may need to be retained after account closure to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes or maintain required records.
  • Identity-verification records may be retained for the period necessary to meet verification, security and legal requirements.
  • Security logs and fraud-prevention records may be retained for a period proportionate to the relevant risks and obligations.
  • Backups may continue to contain information until they expire or are securely overwritten through our ordinary backup lifecycle.

Where information is no longer needed and no lawful retention ground applies, we will take reasonable steps to delete it or irreversibly anonymise it.

You may request account deletion by contacting support@tpredmarket.online.

We may need to verify your identity before processing a request. Deletion may not be immediate if we must first settle eligible outstanding transactions, investigate a security issue or comply with a lawful retention requirement.

Where we retain information after a deletion request, we will limit its use to the applicable lawful purpose.

8. Your privacy rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Be informed about how your personal information is processed.
  • Access personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request erasure where the applicable legal conditions are satisfied.
  • Restrict processing in circumstances recognised by law.
  • Object to certain types of processing where a right to object applies.
  • Data portability, where applicable.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
  • Challenge certain automated decisions, where applicable.
  • Complain to a competent data-protection authority, including the Nigeria Data Protection Commission where it has jurisdiction.

These rights are not absolute. Certain requests may be limited by legal obligations, the rights of other people, fraud prevention, legitimate retention requirements or other lawful exceptions.

To exercise a right, contact support@tpredmarket.online with the subject line “Privacy Rights Request”. Tell us what you are requesting and provide enough information for us to identify the relevant account.

We may ask for proportionate verification before disclosing, correcting or deleting personal information.

We will respond within the time required by applicable law. Where a request cannot be fully granted, we will explain the applicable reason to the extent legally permitted.

9. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, loss or destruction.

Depending on the system and information involved, safeguards may include access restrictions, authentication controls, encryption, secure transmission, logging, backups, security monitoring and staff confidentiality obligations.

Access to sensitive identity and financial information should be limited to authorised individuals and services with a legitimate operational need.

No online service, database, network or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We therefore cannot promise that unauthorised access or data loss will never occur.

If a personal-data incident occurs, we will assess it and take the steps required by applicable law, which may include containment, investigation, notification to the relevant authority and communication with affected individuals.

10. International data transfers

Although TPredMarket operates from Nigeria, some hosting, cloud infrastructure, security, analytics, payment or identity-verification providers may process personal information outside Nigeria.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we will take the steps required by applicable data-protection law. Depending on the circumstances, these may include assessing the destination country’s protections, using an appropriate transfer instrument or contractual safeguards, and meeting other applicable requirements.

The use of an international provider does not remove our responsibility to assess and manage the privacy risks of the processing for which we are responsible.

Where required by law, we will provide further information about relevant transfer arrangements.

11. Children’s privacy

TPredMarket is intended for individuals aged 18 and above.

We do not knowingly permit individuals under 18 to use the Platform as account holders. Where an age check is required, we may request additional information or restrict access until eligibility is established.

If we discover that an account belongs to a person under 18 in violation of this policy, we may suspend or close the account and take appropriate steps regarding the associated information, subject to legal obligations.

If you believe a minor has provided personal information to us, contact support@tpredmarket.online.

12. Automated processing and personalisation

We may use automated systems to support account security, fraud detection, feed personalisation, content moderation, verification workflows and Platform operations.

Automated flags or recommendations may not always be accurate. Where applicable law provides a right to challenge a decision or request human intervention, you may contact us through the channels provided in this policy.

We will apply any additional transparency, review or consent requirements that are legally applicable to significant automated decisions.

13. Third-party websites and services

The Platform may link to external websites or integrate services operated by third parties.

This Privacy Policy does not automatically govern a third party’s independent processing of your information. You should review the privacy information provided by the relevant service before sharing information with it.

Our use of a third-party provider on our behalf does not remove any obligations TPredMarket has under applicable law.

14. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the Platform, our data-processing practices, our service providers or applicable legal requirements.

We will publish the updated policy and revise the “Last updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent before implementing a material change.

We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
